I did the 8 day Lemosho route, leaving end of December 2023 and summitting early Jam 2024 (approx). Rough start as airline lost my duffel bag. Luckily I had asked Stan in advance about the possibility of this happening and he had told me what to do so I was prepared. I had brought enough clothes for a couple of days, and Habari provided me with anything I was missing.
The guides were amazing from the very start. We had a team of 5/6 great guides including Stan, Leon, Jackson et al. Great guys with huge knowledge about the area, the people, the history, the landscape, the flowers and the fauna etc.Apart from that they fostered a great team spirit in the group which was important as we gradually got higher and some of us began to tire.
The food was a huge highlight. Our chef (Mama Jimmie) cooked up an absolute storm every day, 3 times per day. I have an egg allergy and every morning I was presented with my own plate of egg-free crepes., which is a good examples of the lengths Habari would go to to make everyone’s trip an unforgettable experience.
The Habari team really came into their own as the altitude increased and fatigue began to creep in. They were keeping an eye on everyone individually and making sure we were all well fed and watered and not suffering from altitude sickness. Above all, the guides genuinely wanted us all to summit and gave us all the feeling we were in the safest hands possible to get us to the top.
This was my first trip to Africa and I am a female who was traveling solo, so I had to make sure I did my research to stay safe and enjoy Africa to the fullest. It was always my dream to climb Mt.Kilimanjaro and do Safari in Africa.
After doing some research online and reading excellent reviews on Habari adventures, I got in touch with Stan, who is the owner of the Habari Adventures in Tanzania. From day1 Stan made it so easy to communicate and discuss the itinerary through WhatsApp. I could feel the trust building even if were continent apart and soon I made a decision to go with Habari adventures. And now, after my successful trip, I can tell you with 100 percent confidence that it was one of the best decisions I made. The airport pickup was very smooth, Michael who was our driver was very friendly. The stay at Panama hotel before and after my hike was very comfortable. Elias, who is one of the guides working for Habari Adventures met us on our way and was very friendly and joyful too.
I had chosen a 7day hike on Machame route. On the day of my Kili hike, I met the porters and the cook. To be honest, they were such good, kind people and very professional. I could see that they loved their jobs. Thomas Kaka was one of the best cooks, he cooked delicious meals. Leon served me meals and set up a comfortable table in the dining area of my tent, the team made me eat a lot to make sure I have enough strength to climb the mountain...
For a successful hike and pleasant experience on Kilimanjaro, we highly recommend Habari Adventure – a professional team that provided us with everything necessary - from hiking items, information about Kilimanjaro, plenty of food and drinks and made sure our chances to reach Uhuru peak were as high as possible. The best route for the summit would be Lemosho (8 days), as it offers good conditions for acclimatization and wonderful scenery – see photos. Also, many thanks to Stan Wilfred, the manager of Habari Adventure, for his professional attitude and organizing skills.
I booked 6 days Machame route with this tour company. I emailed four companies and this one responded quickly. They were really quick and respond to every question I asked.
When I arrived at the airport I met a person who was waiting for me, ready to take me to the hotel, After sometime I met my guide Leon for short briefing, checking my gear before leaving the hotel making sure I was well prepared and making adjustment as needed. There after I was ready for my trip tomorrow.
I had amazing 6 days in the mountain. Leon was super experienced, paid much attention and was able to assist me in every moment.
He performed twice a day health checkup and his experience in dealing with high altitude environment was vital for me to accomplish the summit. He was by my side and he didn’t let me quite in the most difficult moments.
The rest of the team was well organized and nice to me. I had an amazing meal cooked by Eugen. Allen the camp master had tents immediately prepared when I arrived at the camp sites. I recommend the rent of portable toilet much thanks to Elisante who was handling that toilet.
There is no doubt I had a wonderful, safe, fun trip because of Leon’s team, I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to summit, but also wants to enjoy the days leading up to it!
